Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage relationships with several external supplier accounts, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
  • Review and transmit AS400 Purchase schedules to suppliers, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods.
  • Coordinate "Level Loaded" schedules using Excel Spreadsheets, optimising production and delivery timelines.
  • Arrange transportation for goods ready for collection, ensuring efficient and cost-effective logistics solutions.
  • Monitor shipments from suppliers, both by air and sea, and maintain accurate records of incoming deliveries.
  • Prioritise incoming shipments based on urgency and transportation mode (Sea/Air/Road/Other), ensuring timely fulfillment of orders.
  • Proactively follow up with suppliers to minimise arrears and backorders, maintaining optimal inventory levels.
  • Handle customs documentation and address any import-related issues for goods entering the UK.
  • Manage inventory levels according to predefined quantity or cost parameters, collaborating closely with the Purchasing department on MOQs and lead times.
  • Make informed decisions regarding the trade-off between transportation costs and urgency of required parts, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising operational efficiency.

Skills

Mandatory

  • To be able to communicate in English (verbal & written)
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Able to Build Relationships with Suppliers & Production Team
  • Good Organisational Skills
  • Good IT literacy
  • Ability to chase Suppliers

Desirable

  • Good proficiency of AS400 and/or SAP and/or Business Objects.
  • Ability to Communicate via Reports, Emails, Presentations
  • Lean Manufacturing/ Material Movement
  • Production Control Experience
