Job description

Global engineering business require a Buyer. Applicants need procurement experience as a Buyer or Senior Buyer within a manufacturing/engineering environment and be MRP/ERP literate.

The Buyer will join a team of Buyers and Senior Buyers reporting into a Procurement Manager. The focus of the procurement will be for parts, materials and services related to mechanical manufacturing processes. The Buyer will be responsible for ensuring continuity of supply while taking into account cost and quality implications.

Specific duties of the Buyer include:

• Ensure continuity of supply to the Poole site, meeting MRP and production demand
• Supplier development activities - review meetings, KPIs/metrics drive against OTD/OTIF
• Spot negotiation activities
• Monitor inventory levels
• Collaborate with stakeholders - engineering, sales, production etc.

Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Procurement experience, as a Buyer or Senior Buyer
• Experience within a manufacturing or engineering business
• MRP/ERP literacy
• Ability to use data to drive procurement decisions
• Previous exposure to engineering drawings
