Job description

Successful manufacturing engineering business require a Buyer. Applicants should have previous experience as a Buyer, or in a procurement / supply chain / production support role. Applications from all industries welcomed.

The Buyer will join a team of Buyers reporting into a Procurement Manager. The role will focus on operational purchasing considerations - management of the supply chain and use of MRP to ensure continuity of supply to the production and assembly lines.

Specific duties of the Buyer include:

• Purchase order placement, management and expedition
• Identifying new sources of supply and some negotiations
• Monitor, manage and report on supplier performance
• Collaboration with stakeholders in engineering, production and quality
• Maintenance of procurement data in MRP

Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Experience in procurement or supply chain as a Buyer, Junior Buyer, Purchasing Assistant etc
• An interest in technology, manufacturing or engineering
• IT literacy with MS Office packages or an MRP/ERP system
• Proactive, positive and outgoing character
• Comfortable working 5 days per week onsite
