Job description

Main Purpose of Role

  • Accountable for global strategic sourcing activities for materials/services within a category or subcategory for local and regional categories
  • Creates or increases a sustainable value for the business through the execution of sourcing initiatives as defined by the Global Category Manager (GCM)
  • Ensures supply of all related materials and services at the right quality, on time and at a competitive cost

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that supply risk is minimised by generating accurate insights relating to relevant supply market risks, assesses the probability of occurrence, and plans and executes mitigation actions working with Global Category Manager (GCM) and stakeholders
  • Carry out the RFx process to deliver the strategic plan prepared by the GCM
  • Takes account of potential new suppliers and innovations when tendering
  • Prepare for, and lead, supplier negotiations appropriate to the requirement
  • Uses eSourcing and eAuction tools with bidding templates for efficient sourcing execution
  • Prepare and implement a tender plan to ensure spend is under contract
  • Ensure suppliers maintain their compliance and approved status
  • Monitors supplier performance against the contract
  • First point of contact for escalation of supplier contract issues
  • Stakeholder engagement/business partner interface for category work

Required knowledge and skills

  • Extensive procurement experience involving high-value, international, strategic sourcing of complex services and processes
  • Degree or equivalent professional qualification, or working towards
  • A proven ability to develop contractual agreements with contracts appropriate to the risk level involved and in complex environments
  • Proven ability to coordinate tender processes and negotiation of robust contracts using agreed templates
  • Experienced in the full life-cycle of the tender process and related procurement practices
  • Proven capability/skills in complex negotiations and deal-closing
  • Expert understanding of goods/service supply markets including cost and value drivers in the supply chain within a Category
  • Ability to build relationships with suppliers, and maintain the ongoing relationship
  • Ability to influence and work across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Will be highly motivated and possess good interpersonal skills; candidates should be capable of operating to tight timescales with the minimum of guidance and be able to communicate effectively at all levels of the business

1/2 days on site

up to £55,000 depending on experience
