The Job

Job Role

We're currently recruiting for a Vocational Tutor to join our clients growing team to deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment of Employability and Vocational studies. You'll be responsible for ensuring that our learners have the knowledge required to complete substantive vocational and employability training up to level 2 that leads to positive outcomes including employment and further education.

We're looking for someone with experience teaching vocational-based qualifications (for example Warehousing or Customer Service), who really enjoys supporting their learners to take actions towards further training or employment, and facilitating their personal, social, and educational development.

We aren't always looking for someone who ticks every single box; however, we are looking for someone with some experience and a teaching qualification (for example CTLLS, AET, Cert ED or PGCE)

Location: Flexible remote working in Peterborough and Fenland with travel to multiple locations when required
Hours: 37 hours (Monday - Thursday 8.30am - 5.00pm / Friday 8.30pm -4.30pm)

Key Responsibilities

* Delivery of vocational or personal development programmes in a classroom or work based environment. Coach, guide and support learners to achieve their aims and plan for their progression onwards.
* Effectively interpret initial assessments and diagnostics to assess learners' prior learning and suitability and support their engagement to ensure timely achievement.
* Negotiate, design and implement an Individual Learning Plan with each learner. Regularly assess, monitor, review, evaluate and adjust the Individual Learning Plan as necessary.
* Adapt and develop existing schemes of work and resources to meet the needs of your group, employers or local stakeholders.
* Monitor and review programme activity and standards to ensure funding and awarding organisation guidelines are met and comprehensive records of participation and outcomes are kept.
* Evaluate the learner experience to ensure high quality provision is delivered by working within the company's quality framework, and ensuring services delivered are in accordance with the awarding organisation standards.

Skills and Experience

* Cert Ed/PGCE/PTLLS or equivalent
* L2 Functional Skills in English/Maths and ICT
* Experience teaching Vocational-based qualifications (Warehouse, Catering, Retail, Customer Service, Construction)
* Experience of working with adult learners in a training environment
* Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal
* Excellent ICT skills
* Driving licence and access to own car
* Achieved or working towards Level 4/5 subject specialist
* An advanced vocational qualification of Level 4 or higher
* Assessors qualification (CAVA, TAQA, D33)
