Are you an experienced and qualified Engineering Training / Assessor? Are you looking for a new Job opportunity in Hampshire?


The job holder is responsible for managing a cohort of Engineering learners, delivering a learning, coaching and assessment service as defined by the Apprenticeship, leading them to End Point Assessment and programme completion. The job holder is responsible for ensuring the service meets standards required by, the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), Ofsted, Regulatory and Awarding bodies used in the delivery of Apprenticeship activities. This includes End Point Assessment and exams administration across the suite of engineering Apprenticeships. The job holder will also manage the commercial delivery of NVQ assessment activities in line with the service agreement.


1. Provides information, advice, guidance and support to Employers and Learners regarding the selection of Apprenticeship programmes; the structure, content and commitment required

2. Liaises with employers to ensure the correct training programme content is formulated for their apprentices and that all aspects of the apprenticeship programme are achievable

3. Completes the required Workplace Assessment and relevant checks to ensure compliance with ESFA /legislative requirements

4. Carries out Initial Assessments to identify learners' levels of skills, knowledge and abilities in a variety of learning areas and identifies their learning and support needs

5. Structures an individualised Training Plan for the Apprentice at beginning of the programme that defines aspirations, learning goals, milestones, and the training content both 'on' and 'off' the job to support the programme of learning in compliance with the ESFA and Apprenticeship standard requirements

6. Completes a full induction with apprentices and employers upon commencement of training programme, including the completion of the relevant regulatory documentation to start an Apprenticeship

7. Conducts Learner Progress Reviews, reviewing progress, setting objectives and target, securing feedback from the apprentice and employer on progress to the individuals learning plan as per the company policy and working instructions to ensure compliance with ESFA

8. Intervenes and supports both employer an Apprentice where progress is falling behind schedule and agrees strategies to ensure the learner gets back on track with learning

9. Delivers one-to-one tutorials as appropriate to promoting the timely completion of Apprentices work

10. Ensures that learners 20% off the job training tracker / CPD tracker is kept up-to-date and that workplace activity is being completed in line with Apprenticeship requirements

11. Assesses and/or marks submission of completed work by the Apprentice

12. Provides ongoing support and guidance, developing and monitoring skills, knowledge and behaviours for End Point Assessment

13. Organises and prioritises workload to facilitate completion of all tasks in a timely manner in line with company requirements and policies, including the planning, and entry to End Point Assessment

14. Ensures Apprentices complete their training programmes within timescales agreed, including all assessments and off-the-job day training activities.

15. Prepares and maintains all documentation and records relating to learners' training, assessment, and examinations, ensuring they comply with the requirements of, ESFA Funding, Awarding Bodies and Ofsted.


Minimum Level 3 Engineering Qualification

CAVA/ A1 Assessors Award
